Foyer Reborn

Two rooms walled so far, now it was on to the foyer and staircase. Not much more to add here about the process, same as the other rooms - insulate, shim the ceilings/walls, then add drywall - easy huh!

The foyer room wasn't too bad, but I thought I would need to break out the trig to calculate the pieces in the stairwell. Besides the oddball pieces to make, just the location was tough. Fortunately with the built in ledge at the landing, I was able to run an aluminum ladder between it and the upstairs hall with a board on top, giving me pretty good access... though still a bit precarious.

Once again the drywall made a huge difference in seeing how the downstairs will look when finished. I got more walls!!

The house is looking great! I know how you feel about working on the stairs! I'm mudding above my stairs right now, I had to screw a 2x4 into the 2 story high wall and lay a 2x6 on it across to the scaffold on the other side of the railing. Talk about nerve-wracking!
