Ready To Cook

The restored 1952 O'Keefe & Merritt is finally inside and hooked up. At 350 pounds it's a real beast! It has 4 cooktop burners, a center griddle, oven, and "Grillevator" broiler. All the pilots work, so no matches needed. Can't wait to cook on this blast from the past!

That is one gorgeous stove. Are those storage drawers under the oven & grill? One more question, where is the refrigerator?

Fridge is going next to the left of the bump out where the wine rack/built-in shelf is located. Still not 100% on just bringing my old one down from upstairs for awhile, bite the bullet and get a new stainless side by side, or ????

We made the change to a side-by-side fridge and found that it had to be moved away from the left wall for the freezer door to open adequately. We can't move it far enough for me to be happy with the swing, and since the stove is immediately to the right there is not much wiggle room :( (Which makes no sense because the a$$ we bought the house from had nearly the same fridge). Have you looked at the new retro fridges? Nice but pricey.

That is a NICE stove! I must have missed the article. How did you score such a beauty?

The stove came from an old appliance place in Cali... the name escapes me. But it's totally restored and so far been working great!
