3rd Floor Unveiling
After 5 months of work I'm happy to say it's 99% D-U-N done! Everyone who's seen it so far loves how it turned out and the floor plan I came up with. Remember this was once two bedrooms and an enclosed stairwell. The colors worked out really well too. So I finally have a comfy "hang out" area and an office area. For the first time in years I have a great stereo setup and the acoustics with the vaulted ceiling sound amazingly great... so I've been pretty much up here jamming and taking a break before the next project... the kitchen. Yes - this is the winter I'm FINALLY going to finish the kitchen. I know what you're thinkin - but I pinky swear! If I have to carry groceries upstairs for one more year...... stay tuned.

What a wonderful job!!
My memory of that space in the 50s is that it wasused as an attic, dusty with cobwebs and a lot of old cardboard boxes full of old stuff like broken Christmas decorations. But it is the place where I discovered the original 1684 deed to the Dutton land in Aston, PA that my grandmother had somehow inherited through 8 generations of her family. That parchment deed, which I still have, led to my interest in the genealogy of the Duttons, Halls, and many related Quaker families of Chester (now Delaware) County.
You have done a fantastic job on the old place. Your den/office looks wonderfully inviting.

Wow... what a find Doug! Better than anything I ever found here, though I think some of the dust and cobwebs were still hanging around!! Thanks for sharing and anytime you're in town...
